Therran Leggett, a 27-year-old resident of Bridport, Vermont, was arraigned on a felony charge of aggravated sexual assault with a child. The Vermont State Police conducted the investigation that led to this charge.

At his appearance in Vermont Superior Court, Addison Criminal Division, Leggett entered a plea of not guilty. Judge Alison Arms set an unsecured appearance bond at $10,000 and imposed conditions that limit Leggett’s contact with the victim, witnesses, and minors. The conditions also prohibit him from abusing or harassing the victim.

The Attorney General’s Office stated: “The Attorney General’s Office emphasizes that individuals charged with a crime are legally presumed innocent until their guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.”
