A federal grand jury has indicted Marco Antonio Jimenez Gonzalez, 27, of Fort Wayne, Indiana, on charges of transportation and possession of child pornography. The indictment was announced by the Office of the United States Attorney for the District of Vermont on August 7, 2025.

Gonzalez is scheduled to be arraigned on August 14, 2025, before United States Magistrate Judge Kevin J. Doyle.

According to court records, Gonzalez was apprehended at the Highgate Springs Port of Entry on July 23, 2025. U.S. Customs and Border Protection Officers discovered child sexual abuse material on his cell phone and laptop during his attempt to reenter the United States. Law enforcement arrested him that day.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office noted that an indictment contains only allegations and that Gonzalez is presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law. If convicted on all counts, he faces up to 40 years in prison with a mandatory minimum sentence of five years. Sentencing would be determined by the District Court based on advisory guidelines and statutory factors.

Acting United States Attorney Michael P. Drescher said: “I commend the investigatory efforts of U.S. Customs and Border Protection and Homeland Security Investigations.”

Assistant United States Attorney Joshua L. Banker is prosecuting the case, while Brooks McArthur represents Gonzalez.

This prosecution falls under Project Safe Childhood, a Department of Justice initiative launched in May 2006 to address child sexual exploitation and abuse nationwide by coordinating resources among federal, state, and local agencies.
