A federal grand jury has indicted Rahm Klampert, a 45-year-old resident of Hartford, Vermont and two-time U.S. Open snowboarding champion, on charges of possession with intent to distribute methamphetamine, cocaine, and fentanyl.
Klampert pleaded not guilty during his arraignment before United States Magistrate Judge Kevin J. Doyle on July 31, 2025. Judge Doyle ordered that Klampert remain in custody while the case is pending.
Court documents state that law enforcement executed a search warrant at Klampert’s home and personal training studio, Rahm’s Results, in Hartford on June 20, 2025. Officers reportedly found approximately 1.1 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1.5 kilograms of cocaine, and 75 grams of fentanyl; twelve firearms including suspected short-barreled shotguns, assault rifles and handguns—three identified as stolen—a money-counting machine, and over $100,000 in cash. According to investigators, multiple sources indicated that Klampert was involved in drug trafficking in the Hartford area.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office stated: “An indictment contains allegations only and that Klampert is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.” If convicted on these charges, Klampert faces a mandatory minimum sentence of ten years in prison and could receive up to a life sentence. The final sentence would be determined by the District Court using federal sentencing guidelines and statutory factors.
Acting United States Attorney Michael P. Drescher acknowledged the work of several agencies: “I commend the investigatory efforts of the Hartford Police Department, the Vermont State Police, the Vermont Drug Task Force, the Brattleboro Police Department and Homeland Security Investigations.”
Assistant United States Attorney Corinne Smith and Special Assistant United States Attorney Charles W. Kirkham are prosecuting the case for the government. Assistant Federal Public Defender Charles Curlett represents Klampert.
